The annual olive harvest, which began on 6 October, is being undermined once again by access restrictions and by settler violence. The olive oil industry is one of the mainstays of the Palestinian economy and supports the livelihoods of approximately 80,000 families. Events in September, covered in this issue, highlight a number of other challenges that Palestinians face in sustaining their livelihoods.
