Today, the World Health Organization (WHO) and partners initiated the Polio vaccination campaign in Gaza, targeting 591,714 children under 10 years. On the first day, a total of 261,233 children were vaccinated covering 44 per cent of the target population.
Today, shelter partners distributed 2,735 tents in total, 2,358 in the north and 377 in the south.
On 20 February, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) delivered animal feed in northern Gaza for the first time since the escalation of hostilities in October 2023. That day, 36.5 metric tons of animal feed were distributed to 146 families with livestock in Gaza city, alongside 51.1 metric tons delivered to 980 families in Deir al Balah.
In February 2025, FAO has served an average of 200 families per day. Overall since the ceasefire came into force, and as of 21 February, FAO has distributed 573.5 metric tonnes of animal feed concentrate to approximately 2,300 families with livestock. This is nearly half of the total amounts distributed since April 2024.
Since the ceasefire started on 19 January, partners have assisted more than 1.9 million people with food parcels across Gaza.
Our partners have launched activities in three women and girls’ safe spaces, two in Jabalya and one in Gaza city. The centres are now offering case management for survivors of gender-based violence, psycho-social support, and group counselling.
UNRWA has distributed 2,485 tents in the last two days, 1,910 tents in Jabalya and 575 in Gaza city.
During the past couple of days, the World Health Organization (WHO) has delivered medicines and medical supplies for primary and secondary care to seven health facilities in Gaza City.
As of today, our partners have established more than 1,500 water points across Gaza since the start of the ceasefire.
Humanitarian partners have distributed over 5,000 dignity kits across Gaza over the past two days.
